No names on returned mail Refused to give money saved by deceased customer to widow

My husband died Oct. 6.inG DIRECT sent his yearly statement to the house stating how much money they were holding. I did not know his pass word or any other information that they asked for. However, I did send them a copy of the Death Certificate, and our Marriage Liscense. They still would not give it to me. They told me that I had to go to court to get the money because they do not use Beneficiary Names. I would have to have signed on the account. This is not true because Bank Of America gave me what they had in his accounts. I know they should give me the money because it is not a huge sum of money, and it is too inconvenient for me to go downtown Los Angeles to Superior Court. I am not well, and I could use the money. I was told that they are a Dutch Holding Company, and they do this to people.
