Went through Houston area consulting service that uses "private lenders" for real estate investment properties. They obviously kept their lenders names to themselves so as no one goes around them. I filled out my docs and wired $500 to the underwriter (James Bueckers). Had my closing date set and I had also invested $3800 in non refundable earnest money (yeah... Stupid me!). The day before closing, Title Company wanted funds transferred before we were set to close. The only line of contact I had was through the consultant. He told me that the wire was sent late in the day (day before closing). The day OF closing, it was still "in process". When the title company closed it's doors, I was sick from feeling I had been scammed. All the consultant would do is try to call the underwriter - Bueckers - who said it was being taken care of! Guess what? It never happened!
Finally I was given the name of James Bueckers when the consultant forwarded me the emails, here is what HE had to say:
