Black Pepper Bottles Are Unusably Spicy Hot

I recently purchased 9 bottles of black pepper at the Dollar Tree. My husband has always used a lot of pepper, more than I've ever seen him use. His face was soaked from perspiring. I put some on my finger to check it and found it to be really spicy hot. Now I'm stuck with 9 bottles of pepper. I am 70 years old and have never had pepper like this. What's up with this?
