I made a payment arrangement in which I very clearly stated that AT&T should auto-debit payment from my account on a specific date. The representative even clarified with me that the payment would be automatically charged on the date in question. She never completed the transaction, and instead indicated that I was to make the payment myself, without ever informing me.
When my service was cut off and I was charged a $40 restore fee, I called customer service and was told that, because there was no documentation, there was nothing they could do about it, despite the fact that I have done this tons of times and never had a problem. They refused to admit that there was any possibility of fault on their end and that I could "complain all I wanted, it wasn't going to change." STEER CLEAR OF AT&T AUTO PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS! They are fee traps!"
