I have been a customer & card holder of Macy's for years!!!!! Contacted Macy's on July 30th, couldn't make purchases via the website. Found out August 1st my Macy's account was hacked, and numerous unauthorized purchases were made & shipped to a Macy's store for pick up. I was told I had to wait days for them to send me a letter (snail mail) containing a security code to confirm I was truly the card holder. This was insane, considering I could verify everything: past purchases, bank account info, payments, etc.
They should have seen my cell phone number, banking info, billing address, and every order I have ever placed has been shipped to the same address for the past 15+ years, as the closest Macy's store is hours away! Macy's is so antiquated that the only way they could verify I was truly "me" was by sending me a letter via the USPS that has never arrived. I complained daily; it's now the 24th of August and Macy's still will not speak with me.
In the meantime, this criminal has received more stolen merchandise. I was dumb enough to have my bank account connected to Macy's site so I could make payments, and this criminal went in and stole $1500 out of my bank account so he could keep purchasing. Macy's fraud department still will not speak to me. These people are incompetent and are allowing additional damage to be done.
I have now received two additional Macy's credit cards that I did not request, issued in other people's names, sent to my address, and still Macy's will not speak to me since I have not received their verification letter - which they were foolish enough to send through regular, uncertified USPS mail!
I will be filing a police report, as this has gone on long enough. I'm so angry and beyond disappointed in Macy's. Despite several requests to escalate this matter, no one will speak to me. Please, someone help me!
