Cannot Remove Credit Freeze Because My Phone Number Is Not Recognized

I cannot remove the credit freeze on my account because the information I am getting from Experian says my phone number is not valid or recognized. I have had the same phone number for over 20 years. I need this resolved so I can turn on the gas at one of my properties.
