First Premier Bank
All Around Bad Business

I have noticed that people have complianed on a variety of things about First Premier. People have stated that First Premier has outregeous fees, intentionally charges late charges and debits payments from customers checking accounts without permission. I have experienced all three problems. Is this what I get for having "Bad Credit"??? First Premier sent me a Future Card with $28.00 available credit, after charging $172.00 in fees. My limit was only $200.00, not the minimun $250.00 that they stated.

When making payments by mail, they were ALWAYS marked as late. When I complained the customer servcie representative stated that I could pay by phone and guarantee an on time payment. Deciding that the $7.00 phone payment charge was better than a $35.00 late fee, I decided to make my payments via phone from then on. Once when I made a payment over the phone the representative asked me when did I want the payment debited from my checking account, I thought this was an odd question, so I stated that it didn't matter. Well, they took the payment over 7 days later and charged me a late fee.

When I contacted customer service to complain about the late fee, the representative stated that thge payment was late since I said deduct it whenever. I argued that if I made the payment on my due date via phone, it was not my problem when it was debited from my checking account. The representative agreed to reverse the charges, only to have then reversed again, this time because the phone payment was made after 2pm.

The next month they debited the payment out of my account, without my consent. When I went to my bank and filed a report about it and got the money back, First Premier began harrasing me via phone even though the payment was not yet due. To anyone who thinks all these rip off reports are from people who are making it up, beware. If the fees aren't enough to deter you, then go ahead. But, please believe they are rip off artists.
