In December I purchased a Copmputer from Best Buy in Dickson City PA. After I got the unit home and set up. I notices that the speakers, keyboard and mouse were all cheap garbage.
So I called the Best Buy store and they told me to bring it back and I would get all my money returned. (some joke).
The gentleman at the return counter said to me there is a 15% restocking fee for open boxes. So I told him that I had called the store and had been told that all my money would be credited to my Best Buy credit card.
Well he said we don't do it that way read the sign. I read the sign and this is what it reads.
Any item can be exchanged or returned within 14 days except for Video Cameras, Televisions, notebook computers, and a few other items will be charged 15% restocking fee.
No I had a desk top computer not a notebook computer. At this point I told him that the school I went to has a return policy for each item. A notebook computer was not what I was returning. Well after I yelled and cursed a little he went and got a manager.
He told me he would have to speak with the store manager. Well I did not pay the 15% but they kept my extra memory I had them install. They also kept all the charges for the installation of the memory and a Norton Virus disc.
Well I threatened to take them to court over the charges so after going through corporate they gave me back $37.75 for the memory. But that is all I got.
Beware of best buys they tell you one thing and do something else.
