Fails to honor its Return Policy

Bought Samsung HLT6176S TV and found out that the Samsung HLT models are lemons because of a design flaw that causes expensive repairs after a few years.

When returning to the store (a few days before the 30 day time period for returns would expire), I was told by the store manager "you have had this item for a month and you have opened the box. This item is not new anymore and we have to charge you a restocking fee"

I asked her where it was written in Best Buys return policy that there is a restocking fee for TVs. The policy that is printed on the back of their receipts specifically names notebook computers, projectors, camcorders, digital cameras, radar detectors, GPS/navigation and in car video systems but does not mention a restocking fee for TVs.

Her answer was: "Our policy states - 'All returns and exchanges must be in original condition and include all accessories'- You opened the box and had the TV for 25 days, so the item is used and not in its original condition anymore."

Keep this in mind next time you are planning a big $ item, with that kind of policy and customer attitude you can also buy the same item over the internet and get it cheaper.

I have made the decision for myself not to buy anything from these blue-yellow clowns anymore.
