I made a car rental reservation with AARP on 8/27 and was charged $1973.16 on my credit card. When I got to the car rental counter at Logan Airport, they were confused by the AARP reservation and eventually found it using the itinerary and confirmation numbers from my AARP travel confirmation email. The clerk mentioned that AARP uses a third party (Priceline), which we knew nothing about.
On my recent credit card statement, I had a charge of $1379.19 from Rntl Insure with a phone number for Priceline. I called, and they could not find anything under any of the numbers I had, my name, phone number or email, and therefore cannot refund me if they cannot find anything to refund. I called Enterprise and went through the same thing. They only saw a credit for gas on my account and could not find anything to refund.
AARP set up this reservation for me, and I have been double charged by a "company" that cannot find any information on the reservation. AARP Travel needs to correct this and get me my refund, or refund the $1973.16 they initially charged me before their third party, Priceline, charged me again. Someone needs to make this right. We relied on your service, using our benefits as members for the discounted rate, and are now being double charged unfairly. The originating reserving service needs to fix this. Please advise me as soon as possible on this horrid matter.
