Do not be misled Ripoff

My boyfriend bought a laptop from Best Buy less than a year ago and was misled by the phrase "we will do the warranty work here". What that actually means is that it will be sent off to the manufacturer, they do not do any warranty work in house. When the laptop was having issues (which it has had one issue after another) it was taken in and then we were told that it was going to be up to 6 weeks for this to be repaired. You have got to be kidding. We were given the option to buy another laptop and they "possibility" of a refund once this one was repaired. Not only was it not fixed when we got it back but they took it upon themselves to wipe the hard drive, so all of the information that was there was now lost.
I will NEVER recommend anyone buy any kind of computer from Best Buy unless they plan on a hassle.

The customer service I received was also very poor. No one seemed to know why this was done or any kind of way to contact anyone about it. Just a "well, sorry".
What they don't know is that I actually work for a company that sells computers and we actually do our own warranty work in house. But the general manager of Best Buy spoke to me like I was a 5 year old child with no knowledge of computers. Completely disrespectful, and when I called him on it he said that he would be right back and sent someone else up to basically deal with me.
I am not saying that the company as a whole is bad, just that the employees of this store are terrible.
