On june 22 i purchased a dell dimension desktop computer that came with a 100.00 rebate offer. This was a mail-in offer that you sent in after printing out the rebate form online.
The very first week after i received the computer-two days after i had ordered it-i made sure i got all my paperwork together to send in for the rebate as there was a 30 day time period in which to do so.
The information they requested was very simple-name and address info along with a copy of the receipt for the system.
Well, as of today, dec 6 after checking their rebate tracking numerous times, there is still no rebate check. Tracking claims there is nothing even in the system for any pending rebate for my order.
After checking other consumer complaintss for dell, i have noticed that they either claim they did not receive any paperwork or it was not filled in correctly.
This is total BS!!!
The rebate offers are a scam to give people more of an incentive to purchase a dell system! The truth is they count on people either forgetting about the rebate or just gi ving up on receiving it.
Why not just offer an instate rebate?
That would sound a lot more legitimate.
I feel deceived and am seriously considering never giving dell any more business—was thinking of buying another system for my daughter but might just look elsewhere...
