We are located in Dallas, TX, so we needed a repo man in Houston. We found a repo company named Reliable Houston Repo. We sent them our info, and then a guy named Jay Carter got in contact with us. He said he was in charge of picking up the vehicle. Jay Carter hired someone else to pick up our vehicle. Keep in mind that we sent over the exact address where the vehicle was located, and they picked it up.
Here's where things got rocky: they sent us a bill for $1,334.04, and originally the repo total was supposed to be $350. Keep in mind these people sent us a contract stating they could charge 10-20% of the vehicle's worth. We then spoke to Jay Carter and asked why he was charging this crazy amount of money. He said, "You agreed to this; you even signed the contract." Keep in mind this guy was screaming through the phone. He didn't even want to tell us where the vehicle was located. He said, "You have to pay first," which is one red flag. He then said, "Wire me the money," another red flag. This account number is in Las Vegas, Nevada!
Overall, we paid him, but this was all a scam to start with. All along, we were just the middleman in all of this problem. Don't do business with ICU INC. Stay away!
