Dear God help us all!!!
I have a vehicle loan with Wells Fargo Financial Acceptance, and I have never in my life had to deal with a bigger group of idiots, and believe me I've dealt with a lot of idiots. This company is maddening. Last February (how ironic) they repossessed my vehicle saying I was two months behind. The fact of the matter is I sent them the December payment by mail in the form of a check and the January payment by mail in the form of a money order. WOW somehow those payments never made it to their office. Get this the "REPO MAN" called me prior to coming out to pick up the vehicle, and apologized that he had to do so as he had dealt with this company for way to long, and had rarely seen a legitimate repossession.
I voluntarily gave the vehicle up as he told me Wells Fargo required he contact the Sheriffs office if I did not. He also told me that in the state of Ohio I had 30 days to clear the debt and get the vehicle back. Of course it was the weekend and none of the complete idiots they had answering the phone could or would speak to me... WOW that group at a loss for words. They never had a problem calling me 50 freaking times a day and "wanting to talk" any other time!!! Now all of a sudden they dummy up!!!
It took me a week to get the obnoxious morons to give me the information to get my vehicle back... You can't just get the info to send them the payments you DON'T owe them, and they treat you like dog doooooo all the while demanding you pay the loan in full, and that you are not dealing with customer service anymore. Ultimately I stopped payment on both the check and money order and western unioned them the money I had already sent them. I literally had a postal tracking slip on an October payment I sent them. It was mailed October 12th 3 days before my October payment was due. According to the postal tracking they received the payment on October 16th and they never posted the payment to my account until December 20th... Oh yes they love to hold payments.
Anyway I managed to get the vehicle back and from that point on attached postal tracking to all payments I sent them... I lost my job, but managed to continue to make regular monthly payments up until November of last year. The state of Ohio has a program in place that will help with vehicle payments in you qualify. I qualified for this service and the state of Ohio told me Wells Fargo was one of the companies that accepted their payments. I completed the paperwork which included Wells Fargo having to fax a letter to the state accepting the payment and stating they would not repossess the vehicle for 30 days after the state made the payment... I worked with Wells Fargo for what is now four months trying to get them to accept the payment they said they would accept in November... A payment from the state of Ohio at that... in the meantime my ex-husband was making payments for me with his credit card until I received my income tax (which should be next week).
I came home yesterday to find a calling card from the "Repo Man" again!!! They will play HELL!!! Obviously their "legal" department has decided not to honor a contract they have with the state of Ohio and not accept the payment they sent in November, and yes I owe them January's payment... I sent a western union payment yesterday in the amount of both December and January's payments (borrowed from a friend), and called them to verify the payment. Again they told me they could not talk to me, and I not so politely informed them talk to me or not the needed to call the "Repo Man" and tell him the payments were made. They refused and told me I need to call another 800 number on Monday.
Well I still have my vehicle, and can't wait to call them tomorrow... There is no doubt I will get the run around, but until they straighten their a&^'es out that vehicle will not surface anytime soon!!! It really scares me to think there are people in this world who can go to work for a company like that and go home with a clear conscious each and every day. And we wonder what has become of this world.
