Had an elliptical on layaway. Elliptical went on sale, was told that the sale price could not be applied to my layaway because it had been on layaway longer than 14 days. Cancelled the layaway (had paid in over $1,200 via Mastercard). Received $290 refund and never received the balance. Have called and spoke with at least 5 different representatives over the last 3 weeks. Each time I am told something different. Each person I speak with informs me that the last person I spoke to gave me incorrect information. Have been told that I would receive refund in 7-10 days (3 weeks ago), then was told it would be in my account in 24 to 48 hours, then another 7-10 days. Now the latest story is that their records show they already refunded me my $. My next step is to file a complaint with the attorney general's office. I will never shop at Sears or use their layaway again.
