Don"t use sears layaway!!! I placed a large layaway. The agreement that i signed states, "Layaways which are delinquent by 14 days or more may be cancelled by sears". My payments were current, I always paid the minimum 186 dollar payment and due to what an employee termed a "glitch" my new receipt printed the same due date as my previous receipt. Employee reviewed entire payment history with me on computer and assured me payments were current and layaway would not be cancelled as it was simply a computer "glitch". Of course I go to make my payment two weeks later and employee states rudely "IT"S CANCELLED"."WE DON"T HAVE TO GIVE YOU TWO WEEKS WE DON"T HAVE TO GIVE YOU ONE DAY". Note at this point my due date had passed four days. The agreement I signed stated 14 days, regardless. No payment had ever been more then four days late, some were early and balance was current. NOW supposedly a check has been mailed, which must be forwarded as I've moved. Employee "Renee" said "in her experience" shes seen this a lot. To me this seems like a scheme to steal money. I was fulfilling the terms of the agreement. They cancelled due to a glitch and I'm out a 10 dollar layaway fee, 25 dollar cancellation fee, and WHO KNOWS WHERE THE 800 dollars I already paid on this 3d TV, and surround sound are. Employees were rude and store manager was out of town. Also, store told me corporate controls cancellations; corporate said stores do cancellations. P.S. After one employee suggested that maybe the reason was they no longer had the Tv another employee checked on computer and said ITS STILL IN STOCK, so i know that wasn't the reason. Deposit was paid in cash, all payments were made by debit, so why should I even have to wait for a check. I want all my money back and i"m never using sears again!
