I recently saw a charge on my checking account for $9.95 that simply stated "Simple Escapes" and its phone number (877) 836-6903. After calling my bank to dispute this claim I decided to call Simple Escapes to see why I'm being charged.
The phone operator (Debbie #25311) claimed that I had been to Classmates.com; which I did, but only bought a 3-month membership from them. I must have clicked on a pop-up button for these crooks and somehow they stole my bank info and even had my address.
After stating that I would like my charge to be reinstated, she wanted to send me more information via email. No email was sent from them.in the meantime, I did some research on google and yahoo on Simple Escapes and the only items that came up were complaints and websites like this one. So I want to place this claim to help others not to give in to these guys.
Then I called back and got another operator (John #16828) who was rather crude on the phone and claimed that I could not get my money back and said that they did not have a "return policy". I told him to cancel everything and not to charge me again. Then I had to call my bank to cancel my debit card.
Although some other accounts I've read had larger amounts of money STOLEN from them, I want to speak out about this and not let these thieves steal another dollar from people who actually work for their money.
