We signed up for a 3 month trial membership on Classmates.com in Sept. 2004. We canceled the membership in Nov. 2004. However, we did not realize until today that Classmates.com had provided Simple Escapes, which is a discount shopping service, with our credit card number. Due to this, Simple Escapes had been charging our credit card $9.95 per month for the past 4 months, without our knowledge or authorization.
We had never even heard of this company! My husband saw the name, but thought it was another name for our Internet Service Provider. The amounts were exactly the same. Simple Escapes is stating that they will refund the amount to our credit card in two days, so we don't know that for sure yet. These people are using illegal and fraudulent busines practices!
