On January 22 I discovered that $134.95 had been deducted from my checking account by someone called Simple Escapes. I was able to contact them using a phone number provided by my bank. They said my husband had signed up for a package of discount coupons on AOL, they gave me his e-mail address.
My husband did not sign up for this! AOL says it is not possible for them to have gotten my bank card number from them. I called Simple Escapes again and they answered any questions I had, such as what day was this ordered and where did you get my bank card number. Their answer - America Online.
I have cancelled AOL. Simple Escapes said they would refund the money, but I don't have it back yet.
Simple Escapes is running a scam, and AOL is involved, whether they realize it or not.
