In reviewing credit card statements, I discovered monthly charges starting in Nov. in the amount of $9.95 from a source calle4d MWI*Homeworks with an 800 number in CT.
I called the number and talked to a customer service rep (Chelsea, #17253). She said I had signed up for their "service" through Lillian Vernon, a catalog company. Supposedly, they provide "discounts" for various types of services. She inquired as to whether or not I had received my "introductory" packet which supposedly contained a gas discount card. I told her that I had never received anything from MWI*Homeworks and told her to cancel my "membership" immediately.
After talking to MWI*Homeworks, I called a customer service rep at Lillian Vernon and filled a complaint with them. I gave them the website information and asked that check out this company that they are affiliated with. They were fairly helpfull and told me to contact them again if I continued to have any problems with this matter.
