I actually did sign-up for a 30 day free trial which actually cost me one dollar via itpaystolearn.com I singed up with Homeworks Plus, Complete Homeworks and Essentials all of which are controlled by MWI. (The complete homeworks was a 90 day free trial) I called and cancelled all three before thier respectice trial periods ended but found my self being billed anyway.
As others have stated, I was repeatedly being billed 14.95 which I didn't get because the membership fee was supposed to be 24.95 or 29.95 per month after the trial period. The first time they billed the 14.95, I figured oh what the heck, I cut the date so clse they charged me a partial fee! Then the next month I was billed 14.95 again.
This time I called and inquired about it, since I had previously requested it be cancelled even gave the name of the person I had spoken to, their ID number and the date/time I called. Was told my cancellation was never logged. Asked why I was being billed 14.95 when the fee was statedas 24.95 when I sined up for trial, no answer was forthcoming! While checking on this, I did note that essentials had the same phone number for cancellation so I made double sure it had been cancelled too.
Now last month, I was billed 79.95 for the Complete Homeworks membership. Although I haven't found my note yet, I have the information written down where I also had previously called and cancelled this, as it took me numerous calls to get through as I constantly got the recording about them bring open from % to % pacific time, No matter what time I called!!! I finally did get through and after wading through 10 mintues of automated system prompts finally got a live person to cancel.
But evidently she didn't log it either as sure enough I have been billed. I will call again and re-cancel, hopefully I will get at least a partial refund since their membership agreement says I will, but then again it also says won't be billed if I cancel before free trial expires! We'll see
