Metro Dodge & Ronny Hill
Ripoffs scammed us We are paying on a car with no title no tag can't drive

Please help us. We are at our wits end. We need help. I have emailed the BBB, Attorney General, Chrysler, and filed a police report.

What happened As follows:

My mother Co-signed on the purchase of a Sebring vehicle June 8th of 2004 for my son. The loan has both names on it. This was a used car and had 11,000 miles on it from the previous owner, Mr. M. We actually bought the car from Metro Dodge after this Mr. M. Owned it for a month then traded it into Metro Dodge for another vehicle. After we bought the car, we had numerous problems getting Metro Dodge to take care of the administrative end of things. It took them 2 months to get a loan company name to us despite several calls and impeccable credit rating of 820. No calls were ever returned. They were supposed to give us a rebate check for $1600 to pay off our previous car as an incentive to buy the Sebring. We finally got the check but later found out that they actually rolled the $1600 into our loan for the Sebring. And, we ended up with a higher interest rate then we should have for our credit rating.

Now, we have tried to get a Tag for this car since September. The Motor Vehicle Department said they could not give us a tag because the car was still showing in the previous owners name of Mr. Michael.

I went over to Metro Dodge and spoke with Bud Ammens, lead salesman, (who did not work there when we bought the car and has been the only one that has been very helpful in this whole matter) and he was going to look into this and have Ron Hill, the Company President, call us. But, I did not hear back from Mr. Hill. (Bud Ammens left me a message to call him; but, then he had to go out of town for family emergency so I do not blame him.) After 2 weeks, I left 3 messages for Ron Hill, the owner, to call me and tell my why the car had not been transferred over into our name. He never returned my calls. I went to Metro Dodge and left messages and still, no one called me.

I finally caught someone at Metro Dodge and told them my son, had been pulled over by Lawrenceville Police 09/29/04, and was given two tickets for failure to transfer the tag. They gave me another 30 day dealership tag and told me that was all we needed until they could give me our Title information. And, they said they did not know why it was taking so long to get us our title information.

Finally 11/17/04, I went to Metro Dodge and demanded to know what was going on... And, they told me that Metro Dodge had never paid off the previous owner's loan, on the Sebring, so they could not get a new title to the Sebring and we could not get a Tag... The old tag expired in September 19. They explained that the money from the previous owner had been received but the old loan, on the Sebring, had not been paid off to Mr. M's bank.

I had them write me a letter stating the above and give me a proof of ownership that the car is still actually in the previous owners name. They did both.

We later found out that we could not legally drive the Sebring with these re-issued dealer tags. So, we have had to park the car and cannot drive it. I called our loan company, Citizen's Bank, and told them about this. They called Metro Dodge and gave them until 11/26/04 to either pay off the previous loan on the Sebring so we could obtain a tag or buy our car back. Also, I made them give me a free rental car until this matter is settled. They have loaned me a 2004 Stratus. But, I just hope it is legal...

Well, here it is 11/26/04 and I went up to Metro Dodge and found out they did not pay off the previous loan and they "do not have the money to buy" our car back either...

My mother and I went to the Gwinnett County Police Department today and have filed a report against Metro Dodge and Ronny Hill, the owner. The Police officer said the police were aware of other cases such as ours with Metro Dodge and all he could do is make a report and send it over the department that handles such issues and see if they will investigate the matter. He did admit this is fraud and a scam Metro Dodge was running on people.

We have been paying our payments of $342. Each month to Citizen's Bank on a car that is not even in out name and cannot drive. We have been paying car insurance on this car that is not in our name and we cannot drive.

Metro Dodge has now told me they would see if Chrysler would buy our car back on Monday 11/2904. I do not believe them. They have lied several times to us. And, they are going out of business by the end of the month and we are going to be held paying on a car that is not even in our nameWe cannot even trade the car at this point since it is not in our name. I truly believe they are trying to stall us until they close then we are out of luck... The previous owner or his bank could actually come get this car at anytime...

I want them to take this car back and we will go somewhere else to purchase a car from a reputable dealer.
