I was, for the last few years, a Direct TV subscriber and really liked the service and programing.in August of I had to relocate to a different state and the apartment complex did not allow the dish so I called and cancelled my service and sold the receiver box.
One month later, Sept. I received the usual bill for the monthly service - the bill was paid directly out of my checking account. I called Direct TV and was told the error would be corrected.
One month later, OCTOBER I received the usual bill for the monthly service - the bill was paid directly out of my checking account. I called Direct TV -AGAIN - and was told the error would be corrected.
It happened again the following month and every month since. I contacted my bank to stop payment and to end the automatic bill paying for Direct TV. The bank explained that there was a charge for stopping payment and that if the bank declines any future charges, Direct TV could treat it like a bad check which could hurt my credit and become very expensive. The bank suggested that I end my service with Direct TV - like I hadn't tried that!
Direct TV owes me for 8 months of service so far. Does anyone know how I can end my service with these people without putting my credit at risk??
