In late August rep from direct energy came door to door offering to lower billing on our monthly bge account. I informed him at that time I was on a fixed income and living in sect 8 housing. He continued assuring me that my bill would be lowered. I agreed to sign up with them as my carrier based on his word of lowering my bill. When I received my bill in October with the first charges from direct energy my bill was not lower but almost a whole 100% higher (instead of $390 a month for billing the bill was $715). I than called both direct energy and bge to cancel service with direct energy on Oct. 1 received confirmation number from direct energy (23922023) saying my service was canceled. However I received a letter dated Oct. 2 from bge saying my service with direct energy would be canceled by or on Oct 26. Now I can't afford to be billed again another additional $320 something dollars on my next bge billing for direct energy.in my opinion direct energy comitted fraud my misrepresting themselves by telling me my bill would be lower than what I was currently paying before having them as my carrier.
