On May 15, I sent two shipments from Pennsylvania. One shipment went to Florida, and one to Kansas. Following their instructions, I purchased additional, replacement cost, insurance coverage.
The Florida shipment arrived in mid-June. The moving van finally arrived at my house at 12:55 AM (not PM) and they didn't finish unloading and leave until 4:15 AM. Several pieces of valuable antique furniture were damaged.
My claim in the amount of $1,933.44 was mailed to MiniMoves on July 27. On October 2 someone finally came to look at the damage. I have not heard a word since, and they refuse to return my phone calls, or my e-mails.
The Kansas delivery was made on July 11th. Again, several pieces were badly damaged, and the chest-freezer was missing. The first thing the man said when he climbed out of the truck was, "I've got some bad news for you." He then told me that the Victorian curio cabinet was broken. What was broken was a 1' by 4' section of curved glass.
The claim for this damage, $1,578.83, was mailed on August 25th. On September 25th, MiniMoves mailed a check in the amount of $392.98.
I have an appointment with an attorney.
