We had called one other moving company to move us from Florida to Virginia. When they arrived, the mover told me that the estimate he was given does not match the amount of furniture that we had and the cost would be another $3000 more. I had released him from his obligation and made some phone calls.
I got a hold of Jesse's Moving and he came and gave me a estimate in the ballpark of $1800. I thought this was great. They came and packed up our belongings. I was not there as I am a truck driver and I had to be on the road and my wife had already moved to Virginia.
The neighbors had told me later that the movers for Jesse's were rough with our household goods. I thought they were exagerating, until we recieved our goods. They arrived at a later date than what we were told, because they had to wait for some other woman to be ready to move to pack her belongings on the same truck.
When they arrived with our household goods, there was damaged furniture (including a big screen television, a Lowery organ and a Queen size bedroom set), missing objects and we later found out that there was broken pieces (we found this out when we unpacked).
We were told to report any broken or damaged pieces, after getting an estimate for repairs, which we had done. I had spoken to Bill Ventrice (owner) on the phone and he is the one who had advised me to do so.
When I sent this information to him, I didn't report all the damage, thinking I was being a nice guy. A couple of weeks had passed since I had sent the estimate, with no reply from Mr. Ventrice.
I had called him and mailed him letters in reference to this matter, with no reply. I had finally turned this matter over to the Better Business Bureau. This was done about two months or more ago and I still have not received any restitution.
