On September 1st 2007 I had all my sons move me from one house to another house in the same city and to start off they were late getting there and one of the movers said that he had fluid drained off his knee which was why they were late but he would have no problem moving me.
They started to move the furniture but they tore up my computer desk and their attitude was oh well and then they started to take my curio cabinet out and busted the door on that and then they started to move my microwave cart and tore that up
Then they started to move another desk I had and busted the side of that off and then after I got moved in this house I discovered that they had busted up a chest of drawers I had.
When the mover busted the door on my curio cabinet he kind of laughed and stated his knee gave out but the insurance would cover the replacement or repair on it
Well when I filed the insurance claim and I had pictures of the damage done except for the computer desk and the other desk but I filed it anyway and the chest of drawers I did not notice the damage until after I filed
They also broke a glass top on one of my tables and I filed that along with pictures
But what really upsets me is that the contract states it does not pay for presswood but that does not give them the right to break my computer desk and my microwave cart
Their ad states that they pad furniture and if they had padded the curio cabinet they would not had broke the door and if they had not been so careless they would not have broken the other furniture
But the insurance refused to pay any of the damages because I did not buy the extra insurance which the company told me I did not need to buy that they had good insurance
They did offer to pay for the poundage of the damage goods which was about 170.00 but they never sent me the check and I believe the reason for that was because right on the notorized copy I stated I would not release all my sons from responsibility
I feel that they have ripped me off because they refuse to pay for the damaged furniture that they did because of their carelessness, they have no insurance and lied when they said that I did not need to worry about the extra insurance
I bought my curio cabinet about 20 years ago and I cannot find anybody that can repair it and I have most of the pieces I don't have the glass that was shattered and part of the top of the door I really would like to get it fixed because it has a lot of sentmental value
I have been looking for something that might replace it and I am looking at about 4000.00 dollars but the point is that if they had padded it it would not have broke
This list also includes dishes and other mis items they broke and on top of that they did not move all my belongings and I had to rent a U-haul and move the rest they had room to move the other stuff but for whatever reason they didn't
Yes I am upset and frustrated because I don't know what to do to get this fixed
