Nationwide Mattress & Furniture Warehouse
Ripoff. Damaged Goods and Service

Now, well into talking with at least five different employees, four cancelled shipment dates later and as of today, nearly two months into the purchase of a 2 piece Peru Bone set that consist of a sofa and loveseat, I come to report and complain about not having my loveseat as of October 28.

On September 5, my son and I went to pick up the furniture set in which I purchased for my daughter. After further inspection of the loveseat, my daughter discovered that fabric had been stapled together to keep the side of the armrest attached to the cushions used to stuff the loveseat. Also, she noted that no legs had been included with the couches. I called on September 8 to report these problems and spoke with a Bryan. He informed me that the legs would be available for pick up by Friday, September 12. However, he could not say when another shipment of loveseats would be in. Sometime later I spoke with Charles and arranged to return the damaged loveseat on Wednesday, September 24 after being told that a new one would be available for me to take September 23. Needless to say, Charles only had one other loveseat for me to inspect for no damages and sure enough, this one was damaged as well.

We both expressed a bit of frustration with these delays, however. Charles assured me that these problems where factory problems and out of his control. All I can do is wait until we get another shipment to come in Mrs. Campbell, is what he said. And when that would beno one really knew. We have been having problems with several shipments coming from Baltimore is what I clearly recall Charles telling me.

After calling a 1-800 number that is posted on Nationwide Warehouse website which than gives you a 1-900 number to call and charges $9.99 for customer service issues, I than was told that the company I was trying to reach was not accessible after waiting 10 minutes to get an operator on the line. Now, seven more calls later to the Nationwide Warehouse in Capitol Heights, Maryland, I am finally told that my loveseat is in and I can come and inspect it.

As a 48-year-old woman with only my son to help, I do not think I should be made to pay for their factory problems. And that is what I am being offered at this time.

The manager has expressed meager verbal apologies and an offer to ship the loveseat directly to my daughters house for a charge of $40.00, a $35.00 discount off the usual shipment price for this huge problem that has caused my daughter to have to delay her housewarming gathering because of inadequate settingcaused me to have to take off work extra days to no avail for another damaged loveseat. To get this loveseat in which I paid for in full by September 5. Please note that in addition, I've had to pay for a $9.99 phone call due to incorrect information on the companies website at www.nationwidewarehouse.com.

The least the company can do is pay the entire cost to get this loveseat shipped at this point. That would be good customer servicebut I guess that is a bit much to expect from a company who, from the beginning, entered my home address information incorrectly.

Sincerely,

Dorel Campbell-Crenshaw
