I was staying at my aunt's home as a guest. During that time there was a break in and $10,000 worth of my property was stolen. The burglary only involved one room and items that belonged to me. Allstate, who insured my aunt, refused to consider the claim because my aunt was not home at the time. The agent on the policy said that the policy was not 'supported' since the agent who had issued the policy had retired.
This company is very creative in finding ways not to pay. The agent himself said that insurance policies are subject to interpretation. Allstate is definitely not 'the good hands people.'
