July I tried to pay my past due payments plus late fees to Wells Fargo. Because I received a state grant for part of the money owed, a document had to be signed in order to ensure that foreclosure would not go ahead. Wells Fargo refused to sign this government document and thus refused payment.
Both the government agency and I have been trying for a month to get them to accept this payment to bring my mortgage up to date. As of 23 August I was told my mortgage went to foreclosure on the 18th of August. I have not received any paperwork regarding this foreclosure, only letter and constant harrassing phone calls asking me to "make payment arrangements".
I have filed complaints with the Illinois and Missouri State Banking and Finance Commission regarding this and their bad business practices and other problems. I will be hiring an attorney to stop the foreclosure and force the company to take payment. It appears Wells Fargo would rather foreclose than make any attempt to assist their customers.
