Fraudulent and Deceptive Billing. Misleading customer service Ripoff

On Feb. 9th, I called all my major credit cards to inquire about reducing my current A.P.R. On each respective card. Bank of America was the only instituion that was unwilling to do this for me.

Also on that day I had scheduled a payment to my account on the due date of 2/10/06 using the online site (www.bankofamerica), which is how I always pay this bill. After consideration, I decided to change my online payment and payoff the balance of my bill.

My balance is $4900.56 for the bill due 2/10/06. I went to the web site to review my account and noticed the account balance was now 4990.56. An annual membership fee of $90.00 was added 2/01/06.

I called customer service again to explain that want to close out the account and pay the balance off, because the interest rate was higher than my other cards. The agent I spoke to said, said my balance was 4990.95. I asked her if I paid off the balance of 4900.56, wouldn't then the account be closed and the annual fee of $90 be reversed, leaving a zero balance and the account then closed? She said, Yes to that and asked me if I wanted to pay over the phone? I said, I'll pay online. She did express there would a problem with that.

I then went online to submit an updated payment of 4900.56. I made payment in that amount, and made Payment the due date of 2/10/06. Payment eas accepted and I was given a confirmation number, which I printed out for my records.

On the next day (210/06) I tried to access my on line account, but couldn't and got message "There are no open eligible accounts to display for this Online ID. "So I called customer service that night to verify payment was made and was told my balance was now $5029.56, because a late fee was added, I explained i made payment online on 2/9/06, he said then that it probably would go thru after midnight and if so the late would atomatically be wavied.
The following day I called their customer service again the balance of the account was still 5029.56 I then spoke with an customer service rep and explain the problem, she told me that because I closed out my account that my on line account payment service was shut down and my payment did go thru. She said I could pay by phone now and the late fee would be wavied, but said she was authorized th reverse the $90. Annual fee, so she put me thru to another customer service rep. Who could.

That rep told me they would waive my late fee and my annual fee but there was also a $74.78 finance charge. I asked to speak to a Superviser
The Superviser told me my balance was $5104.34 but that he could remove the late fee and the annal fee but not the finance charge. The close out payment would be 4974.34 He said he was not authorized to remove that charge and that was the way it works, I then decided just pay off the balance but he then wanted to charge me $15. To pay by phone. So I just went to the local Bank of America branch and paid 4974.34.

At the bank I told the teller I wanted to payoff my balance and gave her the check for the amount of 4974.34. She told me the balace was 5029.56, i gave her the check for the amount of 4974.34 and hope that will settle with them and leave a zero balance?
But this whole scenrio felt wrong and I felt like I got ripped off. Do not Use Bank Of America
