Recently, I tried Okcupid, a dating App available on Google Play, and it turned out to be one of the most disappointing experiences. Not only did I come across information about a class action lawsuit concerning the App allegedly stealing biometric data from users who upload their photos, but the platform itself seems riddled with fake profiles. Genuine interactions are hard to come by, and I encountered numerous unfriendly users. What's more concerning is the prevalence of overseas scammers, who, despite their dubious activities, continue to operate on Okcupid. It's worth noting that Match.com is the parent company of Okcupid. In my opinion, such Apps that compromise user safety and privacy should face stricter regulations or even removal from platforms like Google Play.
