Had company to pick up furniture in Edm, Ab and ship to Dartmouth, NS. Had a problem with getting movers to pick up in Edmonton and when they did the furniture was taken to Montreal and transferred to storage and finally on a truck by Group Movers to NS. On the 26th we get calls from a foreign lady unable to speak English by we I mean my parents, my daughter and finally us. She informed us our furniture was to be delivered that night and we needed to fax a copy of visa comfirming payment which we did. At 8:30 pm the movers arrived (2 men) and started unloading our furniture stating they had to rush as they had 3 more loads on. We had a friend to help us and between all of us we got finished at around 10:30 when I noticed that they never checked off anything on the waybills etc so I started to check if anything missing and found my footboard to my bed and a picture box when I mentioned this the driver told me to write down what was missing and call their office on Monday. When I called on Monday a gentleman named Glen was very helpful and said he would get hold of the dispatcher of our furniture and have him call me. The following day a man named Ersan called and told me he had my boxes and picture box but not my footboard but would look into it and the next truck down east would have my stuff. A week later I am calling Ersan to see what happened and was told he had all my stuff including footboard and that he had told me this when he called. I stated he never told of footboard but was glad everything was found. Next thing I know he informs me not a footboard but a box spring and I tried to tell him this was not mine. My husband and I continually once a week called saying this was unacceptable we needed our bed and was told by the owner (Glen) and Ersan what was our problem, what was our hurray, big deal it is only a footboard and they only had to pay 60 cents on the pound so they'd give me $6.00. If I took them to court they would say they don't understand English, they have hung up swearing at us, refused our calls etc. I have put this on internet and have heard stories about other people having same problems with company (one who sued and got a settlement which still isn't paid). I never even mentioned to them that I had an eight piece setting of china, silverware etc now only have a seven piece, ornaments missing etc all I want is what they have of mine. I thought the police could help as these are mine items they have and will not return them but they say it is a civil suit. Can these people be stopped.
