Shoppers Direct (SD Enterprises) somehow got my card # without my knowledge or my permission. When I noticed the $3.95 charge deducted from my account, I called them. The rude customer service person adamantly stated that it was non-refundable & that I agreed to the charge. Which is completely untrue! She kept saying "would you like me to play the recording"?"You agreed that the last four digits were of your card number." I kept trying to explain that the person who called me had given me a confirmation code for receiving a $10 gas card & $10 Wal-mart card -that just so happened to be my last four digits of my card #. I asked how they got my card number in the first place & was told that it was from another company (Mobil Services), when I agreed to try some program.
As much as I tried to explain how I never agreed to try any program, they wouldn't listen & kept referring to the recording. I said that I didn't care what it said on their side, I know what I said. I said I did NOT want to try any program or be charged for anything & that he stated that it was "no problem, you won't be charged for anything & the four digit code was my confirmation number for receiving the two free $10 gift cards."
No one will listen - I repeatedly asked for a supervisor & they all just kept saying how the $3.95 was non-refundable because I agreed to it & added that I was lucky I called when I did because I would've been charged an additional $14.95 for their program. I have no idea what their program is!
She stated that "the info to receive the $10 gas & Wal mart card is in the mail & would be received within 7-10 days", then stated "or it may be 10-14 days" & then added "I'm not sure when you will get it".
I called the Mobil service company (the number that SD gave to me) & asked how they got my card number when I never gave it out to anyone. They have no knowledge of Shoppers Direct or SD Enterprises & have no record of my name or card number. This is so frustrating!
So, I'm out $3.95 for absolutely nothing!!! Now I have to just wait to see if some other mysterious charges appear?! I'm really afraid of what these companies may do with my card, which is my debit card...
