I am just adding to the reports of the marketing companies listed as scams. I worked for Direct Effect Marketing Group that is located In Wyoming, Michigan for 4 hellish days. I was contacted by email and phone for an interview. I went to the interview and the office is really small, and it looks like someone just stuck letters on the glass door spelling out the company name instead of having a legitimate sign. The receptionist didnt know what she was doing because the whole time I was filling out my information she was failing at giving driving directions to other people coming in for interviews. After I waited for awhile and listening to people in the office yelling in th office at each other i met Paul, the supposed Director of the company. He was very shady and overly energetic to the point of acting crazy, he told me a
brief story about the company and then said they would call me for a second interview.
After the second interview which turned out to be an 8 hour 'job shadow', the offered me a job. I was told that i would be making 10 dollars an hour plus commission during the training. All in all, the whole thing was a SCAM and totally unprofessional. I wasted my time by working 8 to 10 hour days, wasted my money and wasted minutes using my personal phone for the business. And I didnt get paid any $10 an hour and never received all of my commission.
These companies should be shut down because they are preying on people who are desperate to get a job especially in this economy only to have them find out its all a f*ing LIE!!!
