I recently went on an interview with a company named EQM, INC. If you google the company you may find the website, which I no longer can, but mostly you will find all the many positions they have available, like account exec. And sales representatives. On the website they say, they are five years old and the economy is not effecting them at all and there is no glass ceiling! Yeah right!
I went in the interview and there were ten other people and more people coming. I asked another peron and she had the same interview time as I did. We filled out our paperwork and submitted it to Amanda Stewart, "the receptionist" along with our resume and she put them behind the others. Two men kept coming in and grabbing a different resume and taking a person in for interview. Not, only that, but there were only two offices and the while we were waiting an hour plus Amanda was calling more people to come in for an interview. W
Hen I went into the interview Tim was very friendly and said things like face to face marketing, and traveling, and how their biggest client was a office supply store starting with a K. At the end he said we may call you between 5 - 6 if you qualified for the second interview. Of couse, I received a call just like everyone else in the room.
The truth is they will put you in locations like stores, shopping centers, or even outside anywhere to sell office supplies. They will get a big check and you will get a little one. The turn around rate is two weeks! That's when people realize it's a big SCAM!
Of course, I got my call to come in the next day and he makes you feel so great and says, congratulations. Come in tomorrow and you will work a full day, as your second interview. That night I found out what they were really about and the next morning when Amanda called I told her I knew what they were doing and she said, wow, well can you tell me where so I can fix it. I said, no, and I will make sure everyone knows what your so called marketing company is up to. I hope this helps!!!
