This is long but pertinent. I have had my stuff in POD since December. I am now back in NY and want to have my stuff delivered. My first phone call, I spoke with Marcus and he said I could have it delivered by the 24th if I called by Tuesday morning. I arranged movers, truck, etc. Called back Monday morning told them I needed it on the 24th and they laughed at me. Can you imagine? I told them I was told if I called by Tuesday morning I could get it the 24th and it is only Monday. Lisa, from the platinum desk, said well that is incorrect and you can't get it for a minimum of 8 days. I explained that I was told the 24th and set everything up and she basically said too bad even though my POD is a mere 35 miles away. I asked to speak to a senior staffer and she said she was senior and no matter who I talk to they will not get me my POD by the 24th. After pushing about a senior she told me her boss, Gordon, would get back to me. Called back 3 hours later as I had not heard from Gordon, and the woman told me he just got out of a meeting and would call me shortly. It is 24 hours later and still have not heard from Gordon. Called this morning and spoke to a very pleasant girl names Jaime. She actually tried to get it delivered as promised on the 24th but was not successful, which I can deal with as long as someone tries to do the right thing. I reschedule for the 1st, re-scheduled the movers, truck, etc. And then I get a call saying that they do not deliver to Brooklyn even though I have had at least 5 conversations with Brooklyn being the final destination and two e-mail confirmations stating Brooklyn drop off and the cost involved. Oh, on that note, I was going to have to pay $478.82 to have my POD delivered to another POD facility further away from Brooklyn than the one it is currently at. Apparently company policy, no doubt since everything else they do makes no sense. Anyway, I have moved my plans to the 1st and now I have to drive to Edison NJ to get my stuff and move it myself to Brooklyn. I asked why they would tell me they were delivering to Brooklyn and send me a confirmation if they don't indeed deliver there. The answer, because we are setting ourselves up to do it in the future. Seriously! Never, ever, use this company. I thought it was such a great idea to be able to fill a container with your belongings, lock it up and have it delivered to you, and I think it is a great idea. PODs is just not the business model to do it with.
