I had a bedroom set from Aarons Rent to own in Missoula Montana and only had 9 more payments to go before it was all paid off. I was always on time with every payment and they were due on the 15th of every month. Well it just so happened I went into labor with my daughter on the morning of the 15th so of course I was unable to make it in for my payment and was honestly not thinking about that at the time. So, I had my daughter and two days later I got home, they called and I told them I would be in the following day with the payment. The following day I was exhausted and did not make it in, that night they called and my husband answered the phone, the conversation started right off by a man telling my husband that I am a liar because I did not make it in with the payment like I was supposed to.
Of course this made my husband very mad and they exchanged a lot of words between the two of them, then a female manager called and proceeded to yell at me for treating her employees badly, she then told me that if I didn't pay for the next two months the following day they were going to reposess the furniture immediately. We did not have the money for two months becuase just the one month was due and that is what I told her. She then told me that they were going to be at my house at noon the following day to pick up the furniture and if I wasn't there they would call the cops and press charges against me for stealing furniture. The next day they showed up and got the furniture, when they were taking it the men told me that if I were to go back into the store withing 90 days and pay my balance up to date i can get my bedroom set back and just finish up my last few payments and it would be mine. Well, not so, I went in two weeks later to pay my balance and I was told that I waited too long and would have to start payments all over again, meaning I would have to pay on this for another 18 months! I will never go back to Aarons and would not recomend them to anybody, they treat people like garbage and the owners should feel ashamed of the people they have working for them. The only point to Aarons is to take advantage of people however they can, the managers get a power trip by treating people in need of their high priced furniture poorly. Somebody tell me if you were the owner of these stores would you hold your head up high or fire all the crappy employees and hire good respectful people?
I will also add that before my husband and I went to Aarons rent to own we had been customers at a different rent to own store in Missoula and received excellent service and warranty coverage from them for our kitchen table and chairs. When we made our last payment at this other store all our chairs were replaced because they were getting loose and the men working did not want anybody to get hurt or the chairs to break at a later date.
