I also am a victim of Orlando Weddings. I have been following up on some of the blogs on "Wedding Mapper" and "You and Your Wedding" website. I initially found out about Orlando Wedding after several unanswered phone calls and decided to search for the company website when I came across the headline news on "Wedding Mapper" from Crying Bride about the scam. As I was reading her comments I was in disbelief and shocked. Orlando Weddings has closed its doors and without any notice to all the brides as of June. Honestly it took a while for it to sink in and come to the realization that I was living a nightmare. All I thought was about my money, which I gave a sum of $5000.00 as a deposit which was given to Orlando Weddings in March. I called my bank to see if they can do a stop payment on the money order that was given but when my parents went to the bank to see if they can retrieve the money, it was too late. Money order has been cashed and no way to retrieve the money back because Orlando Weddings was not associated with my bank.
Michele Rapaport had sent me an email sometime on July 7 stating:
We have a bit of news in regards to Orlando Weddings. We have now become Visionary Weddings. We now work almost exclusively with The Omni Orlando Resort at Champion Gates, and figured Visionary Weddings was a better fit for our name. Visionary Weddings will honor the payments made to Orlando Weddings so far. Please review the new agreement, sign and return to the address below. As you can see everything will remain the same only the name has changed.
Then on July 23 I received another email response from Michele Rapaport stating what time would be convenient for me to meet with her to discuss my wedding.
After researching online that Michele Rapaport was changing Orlando Weddings to Visionary Weddings then indicating that she is filing for bankruptcy. Now the latest bomb story is that she is trying to call vendors on behalf of mother of the brides to try to get the refund back and send to her. Not only has she ruined the most important day of a brides life but now she wants to suck more money out of them. She needs to be stopped and soon but in the interim I will continue to plan my wedding for May.
For all those brides out there that was cheated by Michele Rapaport and Orlando Weddings or Visionary Weddings. Report her, file complaints and do not allow this to happen to anyone else.
