I keep receiving letters from Lloyd & McDaniel regarding an old Chase account I never had. They gave me a file number, but they deny knowing what it is for. I called Chase, and they said to file a complaint and block the company. They provided a strange account number, showing all asterisks (12) to represent the first five numbers of a credit account, followed by four numbers. Chase denies the actions, and the asset company does not call back. The phone message states there is at least an hour wait on hold for each call made.
Chase said this is a scam and advised me to block them and ignore all calls. I should return letters unopened or trash them. This is horrible. I am disabled and not able to be sued. They can't harm my credit because there is nothing on file with any credit bureau and nothing at Chase. The asset company told me the first time that they had no idea what the letter was about; the account number wasn't theirs, and they admitted the scam. Then they sent another letter, which I received today.
