Ripoff deducted money from my account without authorization Internet

I changed my service from dial-up to wireless on 8/16/04, was quoted $69.00. My hardware was supposed to arrive prior to 8/28/04 when I drove cross country from new york to california. I made this clear when speaking to a customer service rep.

The hardware never came and I left new york. Ten days later when I checked my acct. $269.00 was deducted. I called earthlink at least 10 times, I got put on hold &sometimes for almost 40 minutes only for them to tell me they could not help me. A mgr was supposed to call me back but never did. When I finally did get through to a real person (not a computer) I was told my money would be refunded but only if I sent the hardware back. I tried to tell them I never got it but they simply said it was my responsibility.

I had to contact an old neighbor in new york to see if anything was left and have them fedex it to me overnite! At my expense!

Then earthlink refused to give me a return address! I had to call 4 times till someone sent a return label via U.S. Mail!
