I purchased the Earthlink standalone DLS service in June. I paid extra to have expedited shipping and it took a week longer than expected for the modem to arrive. After setting the service up it never worked. Earthlink sent Frontier out, the company that owns the phone lines, they said Earthlink needs to fix their issues with their routers. After several weeks, Earthlink could never get the internet to work at my house so I requested a refund. Earthlink will do anything to try and prevent you from canceling, their customer service is absolutely pitiful. They tried to charge me a $90 early termination fee, but after calling and complaining so many times Earthlink finally said they would waive the fee. Two months later, on August the 2nd I was charged $90 for the early termination fee anyway, I called and complained, but like I said they are terrible people and a criminal company. I would avoid using Earthlink as your ISP at all costs, they are very sneaky and evasive when you purchase their service.
