I signed up with earthlink in April for dialup service. They immediately billed my credit card, not once, but seven times the same day. I called customer service, and was told that I must have set up 7 accounts, and some of them were in different states.
I only have one home computer, and only live in one state. I only asked them for one account.
The customer service person then promised I would receive a refund for the extra charges. No refund yet, and they charged 7 more charges in May.
Another call to them got the same results; a promise of a refund.
So far, I haven't received a refund.
