Explanation of complaint:
Two years ago I purchased a Dell Laptop for my birthday within just couple weeks the computer gave me problems and didn't work properly. I contacted dell for a complete refund and was continually denied. Dell simply kept sending me parts,
having technician come to my home, and or sending me refurbished junk. I could look online and see all of the problems that I had with 6 different exchanged laptops via consumer complaints.in-fact web sight was created called "HELL" instead of DELL, this web site is dedicated to thousands of complaints of customer service nightmares, and people having to deal with the same Indonesian Dell customer service reps. Dell has a pattern of sending used refurbished parts and selling substandard computers with one year warranties, once a customer has exchanged so many times he/she has never fully been able to use the computer in its entirety between shipping times, order replacement times, and the times that the computer is not working. Dell has such an issue with selling defective computers that the company has now set up a section on its web page selling used refurbished returned computers. The last unit I received from Dell corp I was assured that this Studio XPS 1645 would not give me any problems for at least 4 years. Within this past year The battery died cost me $159.00 The Hard drive died cost me $240, and now the one year old computers mother board died. Every time i deal with
dell replacements I get refurbished computers with no disks, and the software is either loaded but yet the for the wrong unit, the fan constantly runs and it over heats, the keys stick and keep typing or the thing dies. I have never since purchasing my dell originally been fully able to take advantage and use any one of the computers without failure of the units in some way shape or form. I contacted dell a year ago and they wanted me to pay $499 for extended warranty. I contacted them now and they want me to pay $358 for extended warranty, and they offered 50% of that. I refuse to pay one more dollar to dell for their defective computer. I paid $100 for an external hard drive just for when the next machine breaks. Dell needs to be investigated and sued on behalf of the millions of customers with online complaints such as myself. I purchased a dell laptop computer 2 years ago and since then I have received 6 replacements until my warranty has completely run out. One
year ago I received a studio xps 1645 and was assured that this was the best computer and it would not break down on me.
I purchased that computer for my birthday and two technicians have been to my home, one replacement was completely smashed and 5 others were refurbished junk that didnt work properly.
I am preparing a complaint to the United States Attorney General, and a civil Law suit summons and complaint.
This last unit I paid out of pocket for a hard drive and a battery all within a year, and now the motherboard is completely dead.
I have had absolutely no enjoyment with this computer. Each time It has died, or is malfunctioning, I am scared to use it for anything important and It has cost me money at kinkos copy shop, purchase of an external hard drive incase of complete failure, an internal hard drive and a new battery.
I contacted customer support corp office by emailing a complaint, and I just got off the phone with a man
asking me to pay for an extended warranty $159.00
I refuse to pay any more money on a product out of my own pocket which was defective and sold to me by dell.
