Having purchased a very expensive (at the time) PNY memory module at Best Buy about two years ago for my laptop, I was convinced that I was buying a worry-free experience as the package said "Lifetime Warranty" in big letters on the front of the package, and PNY was a reputable company, right?
Started having problems recently that were fingered as a memory failure with the part. Called to get warranty replacement and was informed of the very fine print policy that required a receipt (for a two-year old purchase that had a "lifetime warranty" - why sweat a receipt to validate purchase date?) or no-go. This appears to me to be a speedbump such that PNY very infrequently has to honor their warranty at all. The module is certainly theirs, they could verify that it is, etc., but they intend to use the fine print clause to substantiate this ripoff.
