Purchased a Target "no hassles, convenient product replacement plan" for a DSI XL that cost an $17.00. Plan states it begins on date of purchase (Sept. 2010) and continues for 2 years. 11 months later the screen is not working correctly. Target replacement plan referred me to nintendo since there is a manufactures warranty still in effect. They stated that the fine print says it is the manufacture's responsiblity during the manufacturer's warranty period. However, that is not how I understand the "no hassles, convenient plan" that I purchased from Target. The plan does not say anywhere that a consumer will first go to the manufacturer directly during their warranty period. It does not say Target's extended plan begin after the manufacturer's warranty expires. This is a Hassle and is not what the warranty fine print says. Target is completely misleading their customers. The plan should clearly state that they do not cover anything until the manufacturer's warranty is expired. The truth is they are selling a one year extended plan beyond the manufacturer's plan. That you will be dealing with the manufacturer directly and that there is no hassle free replacement during the manufacturer's warranty. This is False Advertisment.
