In January my son was charged (direct thru his bank) for a People pc account. He has overdraft protection but is charged $30 each time. Their advertisement states $9.95 per month but they were puting thru two charges on one day. The first was for $10.95 and the second was for $6.94. I contacted them February 21 about this. (1) The address they had was wrong; (2) Could not still can't explain two charges (3) told me the account was cancelled (4) $80 and two months of charges would be credited back to his bank account.
In March, he was again charged two charges and $60 in overdraft fees. I spoke to a lady names "Lucy" (would not give last name). She said she showed the account was cancelled February 27 and $5.95 was credited back to his account. She said nothing else could be credited back until I provided the cancellation number that we never got. I asked to speak to a supervisor.
I spoke to a man named Rejin (they don't like to give last names). He said the account was open. I asked how many accounts there were. He said one. I asked how is it then that Lucy found it to be cancelled and he finds it to be open? He changed the subject. He now gave me a cancellation number and told me that two months of charges would be credited back to my son's account. I asked him about the additional money my son was out and he said he couldn't do anything about it. I explained that there is only one computer in our home and that I have had DSL service for over two years. He said nothing else was going to be done about this account.
