I was charged $11.95 despite the fact that I cancelled well within the 30-day free trial period. I became aware of this charge only because there'd been recent credit activity.
I called 800-493-2392 to cancel my account (again). I got the rep.'s attempt to keep my business. I ignored him, interrupted him, and asked for a cancellation reference number.
I then told him I wanted the fee credited back to my account. I got the whole song-and-dance about why they can't do that, at which point I asked to speak with his supervisor. Suddenly he was able to reverse the charge.
I asked if there was another reference number, or if it was the same as the one I'd already received.
He said, "No, I will now completely cancel your account and give you a new reference number." Hello???!???! Didn't I already asked for my account to be cancelled? Didn't you already give me a reference number for said cancellation?
Persist. Be polite; it's not the rep.'s fault. If they tell you 'no' about reversing a fee, just keep asking for a supervisor.
I went through this with another company, too -. By asking for a supervisor I had all charges (3 months) credited back to my account.
