On 4-17-03 I bought from Best Buy an HP computer cpu for $1400 (my total was $2583.36) and purchased the 3 year Performance Service Plan for another $199.99 for the cpu only.
The computer began shutting off by itself. 4-3-06 I took it to Best Buy... 4-5-06 they find no problem and since my 3 yr PSP was almost up they told me I should not really expect the computer to last 3 yrs and maybe its time for a new one! I leave unsatisfied and unrepaired (at this time I receive mail offers to get another 3 yrs psp from Best Buy!) (I also get one from HP)
On 4-7-06 I took it again to Best Buy... I call the next day and ask whats up? And they tell me it has not shut off. (It was doing it within 24 hours without fail for me) I called later... Said it was still on they could find a thing wrong, since I needed it I went and got it, took it home and within hours it shut off by itself.
I go back to Best Buy 4-7-06 and tell them its still doing it, this time the swear they won't shut it off themselves... Next morning I call and the guy says when he came in he turned it on! It was off but he assumed someone shut it off the night before!!! So it had failed but since "failure" only mean't that the computer was "off" Best Buy was clueless.
I ordered the 169 plan from HP, recd a box and I sent it to HP and it is now fixed. HP had no problem finding and reparing the problem relaced the fan and cd writer. I got nothing for my $199.99 paid to Best Buy but a big waste of my precious time. I see that it is a huge profit center for them now. It is really just fraud.
Best Buy PSP is A RIP OFF. Their service dept is incompetent. The consumer pays the price. Do not shop Best Buy.
