I placed an online order with Best Buy on July 3 and on July 4, I received an emailed ad for a sale... So I immediately checked at Best Buy online and the Samsung Laptop R580 w/Intel Core i5 Processor's, that I just ordered the day before, price went down $50.
So on July 5 with my copy of my online receipt and a copy of the "new" lower price, I went to Best Buy Store in San Carlos, CA to see if I could get a price adjustment. I was told at Customer Service Dept. That they can adjust the price by my calling 1-800-bestbuy.
I immediately came home and called. The Best Buy agent that I talked to said that my order was in it's final billing process before shipment. I was told that they could not adjust any lower rate at this time because my order was in final processing and then I was told that I could not get an adjustment on the item because it's an outlet item.
Since that was the case, I told the Best Buy agent to cancel the order and then I would place a new order (because the Samsung laptop is still available at the lower price.) I was told that they could not cancel the order during final processing and at this point nothing could be done.
I'm not happy. I've been a loyal Best Buy customer.
It's only been 48 hours and the order has not been completed... My credit card payment was still pending (which I double check with my credit card company.) Any reputable merchant would have honor this matter. Or at least cancel the order... So I could to place a new order to get the "new" lower price.
Just to mention the Samsung Laptop R580 w/Intel Core i5 Processor can only be purchased at Best Buy, they have exclusive sales for this laptop. So I'm stuck with purchasing it at Best Buy... Since this laptop is the one I want.
